This one-day course offers a friendly and supportive environment to revel in acoustic sounds and work through the guitar part for Beeswing by Richard Thompson. (Includes a video breakdown of the parts, notes and tabs to take away).

In addition to looking at the techniques and influences underpinning Beeswing, it aims to help expand knowledge of the guitar fretboard, build technique and bring new creative ideas to help bolster your development as a guitar player.

This may not be be suitable for beginners, though it should be engaging and accessible to a range of levels and musical backgrounds; whether you’re a songwriter, instrumentalist or you’re just playing for the fun of it.

We’ll look at a few different versions of the guitar part, starting with a simple chord and picking pattern and working our way up to the full part as played on the original recording.

I hope to leave people with a deeper understanding of guitar accompaniment and with some new ideas to bring to their own playing or creative process.
